    From building classrooms to enlisting kids, tutor does it all

    The state government will award Mallesh D Harivan, a teacher in a hamlet called Gadag, Karnataka, who helped increase the enrollment from 68 to 103 students; added three classrooms after collecting Rs.3.5 lakh in donations. He introduced 'no-bag' day on Saturdays to encourage extra-curricular activities and weekly trips to the library.
